Place quail eggs in a saucepan in a single layer
Add cold water to cover the eggs by about 1 inch
Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat
Once boiling, reduce heat slightly and cook for 2 to 4 minutes
For soft-boiled eggs, cook for about 2 minutes
For medium-boiled eggs, cook for about 3 minutes
For hard-boiled eggs, cook for about 4 minutes
Drain the hot water immediately
Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water
Let them cool for 5 to 10 minutes
Gently tap and peel the shells before serving
