Rinse the napa cabbage thoroughly
Trim off the base
Separate the leaves
Slice or chop into desired pieces
Heat oil in a pan or pot
Add garlic, ginger, or onion if desired
Add the cabbage
Stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes until tender-crisp
Add salt and pepper to taste
Add soy sauce, sesame oil, or chili flakes if desired
Cook a few more minutes until softened
Serve hot
