Preheat the oven to 425°F
Remove the chicken from packaging
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels
Place the chicken in a roasting pan or on a baking sheet
Brush the chicken with oil or melted butter
Season with salt, pepper, and desired spices
Roast for 20 to 30 minutes until heated through
Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F
Remove from the oven
Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes
Carve and serve
