Call emergency services immediately
Do not wait for symptoms to improve
Keep the person awake if possible
Place the person on their side to prevent choking
Stay with the person at all times
Check breathing and responsiveness
If breathing stops, start CPR if trained
Do not give coffee, food, or more alcohol
Do not let the person walk, shower, or sleep alone
Do not induce vomiting
Keep the person warm with a blanket
If available, give naloxone only if opioid use is suspected
Get medical treatment at a hospital as soon as possible
