Move to a cool, shaded, or air-conditioned place
Lie down and rest
Loosen or remove excess clothing
Sip cool water or an electrolyte drink
Use cool wet cloths on the neck, armpits, and groin
Take a cool shower or bath if possible
Fan the body to help cooling
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and strenuous activity
Seek medical help if symptoms worsen or do not improve within 30 minutes
Call emergency services if there is confusion, fainting, vomiting, severe weakness, or a high body temperature
