Keep the groin area clean and dry

Dry the area thoroughly after bathing, sweating, or exercising
Change out of sweaty clothes, underwear, and socks promptly
Wear loose-fitting, breathable cotton underwear
Avoid tight clothing and synthetic fabrics
Use an over-the-counter antifungal cream, spray, or powder containing clotrimazole, miconazole, terbinafine, or tolnaftate
Apply the antifungal exactly as directed on the package
Continue treatment for the full recommended time, even if symptoms improve
Treat athlete’s foot at the same time if present
Do not share towels, clothing, or sports gear
Wash towels, underwear, and workout clothes after each use
Avoid scratching the area
Keep the skin folds as dry as possible
Use a separate towel for the groin area
