How To Season A Blackstone?

Wash the griddle thoroughly with hot water and a stiff brush

Dry completely

Apply a thin, even layer of cooking oil (use a high-smoke-point oil like canola, grapeseed, or flaxseed)

Heat the griddle on high until the oil smokes lightly

Turn off heat and let it cool

Wipe off excess oil

Repeat oiling and heating 2–4 times until the surface looks dark and slightly glossy

After the final seasoning, wipe lightly with oil and reheat briefly until it stops smoking

Let cool

Before each cooking session, wipe off any residue and heat to cooking temperature

After cooking, while warm, scrape residue and wipe with a thin coat of oil if needed

Avoid soap and soaking; use hot water and a scraper, then dry and lightly oil
