Measure and mark the cut line with a fine-tip marker or masking tape
Secure the acrylic sheet on a flat, stable surface
Use a straightedge to guide the cut
Score the sheet repeatedly with an acrylic scoring tool or utility knife for thin sheets
Snap the sheet cleanly along the scored line
Use a fine-tooth saw, jigsaw, or circular saw for thicker sheets
Use blades designed for plastic or fine-tooth blades with many teeth
Cut slowly to reduce chipping and melting
Keep the protective film on the acrylic while cutting if possible
Clamp the sheet firmly to prevent movement
Support both sides of the cut to avoid cracking
Wear safety glasses and gloves
Smooth rough edges with sandpaper or a file after cutting
