Wash and detangle your hair
Decide how short you want the shortest layer to be
Part your hair down the middle
Brush all hair forward over your face
Gather hair into a low ponytail at the front of your head
Hold the ponytail where you want the shortest layer to end
Cut straight across the ends
Release the hair and check the layers
Trim any uneven sections
Repeat on dry hair for small adjustments
