Turn off the ice maker
Unplug the refrigerator or switch off power at the breaker
Remove the ice bin
Empty any ice from the bin
Leave the freezer door open
Place towels around the freezer to catch water
Let the ice maker thaw naturally
Use a hair dryer on low heat if needed, keeping it moving and away from plastic parts
Do not use sharp tools to chip away ice
Wipe up melted water
Dry the ice maker and surrounding area completely
Reinstall the ice bin
Turn the power back on
Turn the ice maker back on
Run a test cycle if available
