Place the steak in a sealed leak-proof plastic bag
Submerge the bag in cold water
Change the water every 30 minutes
Use thin steaks for faster thawing
Separate individual steaks if frozen together
Use the microwave defrost setting only if cooking immediately after
Rotate or flip the steak during microwave defrosting
Keep the steak cold while thawing
Cook the steak as soon as it is fully thawed
Do not thaw steak at room temperature
