Open the document in Microsoft Word
Click File
Click Save As if you want to keep a copy before deleting
Close the document
Open File Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac
Locate the Word document file
Right-click the file
Click Delete or Move to Trash
Empty the Recycle Bin or Trash if you want to remove it permanently
