Restart the Chromebook
Open the Files app
Find the corrupted file
Right-click the file or use two-finger tap
Select Delete
Empty the Trash if available
Try deleting the file in Guest mode
Try deleting the file from the Downloads folder
Rename the file and try deleting it again
Move the file to Google Drive, then delete it from local storage
Use the Chromebook Recovery Utility if the system files are corrupted
Powerwash the Chromebook if the file cannot be removed
Back up important data before Powerwashing
Contact Chromebook support if the file still cannot be deleted
