Open the Google Photos app or go to photos.google.com
Sign in to your Google account
Select the photo or video you want to delete
Tap or click the trash can icon
Confirm the deletion
To delete multiple items, press and hold one item, then select more items

To delete all photos, select all items in your library in batches and delete them
Open the Trash or Bin folder if you want to permanently remove items
Tap or click Empty trash or Delete forever
Confirm the permanent deletion
To stop photos from syncing, open Google Photos settings
Turn off Backup or Backup & sync
To delete photos from your device only, delete them from your phone’s gallery app instead of Google Photos
To delete photos from Google Photos and your device, delete them from Google Photos after backup is turned on
Check the Archive folder if you want to remove photos from the main view without deleting them
Move selected photos to Archive instead of deleting them
