Dry your skin completely
Tie back your hair and work in bright, clean lighting
Disinfect a clean dermaplaning tool
Hold the skin taut with one hand
Hold the blade at a 45-degree angle
Use short, light, downward strokes
Start at the side of the face and move across the cheek
Dermaplane the forehead with gentle strokes
Carefully work around the nose and upper lip
Avoid the eyelids, lips, acne, cuts, and irritated areas
Wipe the blade clean after each pass
Do not go over the same area too many times
Apply a soothing moisturizer after dermaplaning
Use sunscreen afterward
Replace the blade as recommended
Stop if you feel pain, burning, or irritation
