Empty the water tank
Remove the water filter if installed
Fill the tank with descaling solution and water according to the product instructions
Place a large container under the group head and steam wand
Turn the machine on and let it heat up
Enter descaling mode according to the machine manual
Run the descaling solution through the group head
Run the descaling solution through the hot water outlet or steam wand
Pause as needed if the machine indicates
Let the solution sit in the machine if required by the descaling product
Empty and rinse the water tank thoroughly
Refill the tank with clean water
Run clean water through the group head
Run clean water through the steam wand
Repeat rinsing until no descaling solution remains
Wipe the machine dry
Reinstall the water filter if used
Reset the descaling alert if applicable
