Empty the water tank and remove the water filter if installed
Fill the tank with Breville descaling solution mixed with water, or a recommended descaling solution mixed according to the label
Place a large container under the coffee outlet and steam wand
Turn on the machine and start the descale cycle if your model has one
If there is no descale cycle, run the solution through the brew head and steam wand in intervals
Let the solution sit in the machine if your model requires a soak period
Empty the container and repeat until the tank is nearly empty
Rinse the water tank thoroughly
Fill the tank with clean water
Run several rinse cycles through the brew head and steam wand until the tank is empty
Refill with fresh water and repeat rinsing if any descaling solution remains
Wipe the machine dry and reinstall the water filter if applicable
