How To Dilute Tea Tree Oil?

Use a carrier oil such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, or almond oil

For skin use, mix 1 to 2 drops of tea tree oil with 1 teaspoon of carrier oil

For a 1% dilution, mix 6 drops of tea tree oil with 1 ounce of carrier oil

For a 2% dilution, mix 12 drops of tea tree oil with 1 ounce of carrier oil

For a 5% dilution, mix 30 drops of tea tree oil with 1 ounce of carrier oil

For spot treatment, dilute more heavily before applying to skin

For larger areas, keep the dilution low

For a spray, add tea tree oil to water only if using an emulsifier or solubilizer

Shake well before each use if mixed in a spray or lotion

Patch test the diluted mixture before wider use

Avoid using undiluted tea tree oil on skin

Keep tea tree oil away from eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes

Store diluted tea tree oil in a dark glass container
