Check your keyboard for a Fn Lock key or a padlock icon
Press Fn + Esc to toggle Fn Lock on many laptops
Press Fn + Caps Lock on some keyboards
Press Fn + Num Lock on some models
Enter BIOS or UEFI setup during startup
Find the Function Key Behavior or Action Keys Mode setting
Change it to use standard function keys without holding Fn
