Press the touchpad toggle key on your keyboard, often Fn plus a function key with a touchpad icon
Open Settings
Go to Bluetooth and devices or Devices
Select Touchpad
Turn off the Touchpad toggle
Open Control Panel
Go to Mouse settings
Find the touchpad tab or device settings
Disable the touchpad from there
Open Device Manager
Expand Mice and other pointing devices
Right-click the touchpad device
Select Disable device
Use your laptop manufacturer’s utility app if available
Check BIOS or UEFI settings for a touchpad disable option
Connect an external mouse and disable the touchpad while the mouse is connected if that option is available
