Place the mixture in a sealed bag or container before throwing it in the trash
Remove or black out personal information from prescription labels before discarding containers
Do not flush medication unless the label or official guidance specifically says to do so
Keep medications out of reach of children and pets until they are disposed of
Dispose of needles, syringes, and other sharps in an approved sharps container
Follow local laws and regulations for medication disposal
