Place used Zepbound pens in an FDA-cleared sharps container immediately after use
Keep the pen capped until disposal if possible
Do not throw used pens in household trash or recycling
Do not recap, bend, break, or remove the needle from the pen
If no sharps container is available, use a heavy-duty plastic container with a tight-fitting, puncture-resistant lid
Label any homemade container clearly as “Sharps” or “Biohazard”
Keep the container out of reach of children and pets
Follow local pharmacy, clinic, or municipal sharps disposal rules
Return the full sharps container to an approved collection site if available
Seal the container before disposal when it is about three-quarters full
