Brush your hair to remove tangles
Gather all your hair back and choose a starting section at the crown
Divide that section into three equal strands
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Cross the left strand over the new middle strand
Add a small section of hair from the right side to the right strand
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Add a small section of hair from the left side to the left strand
Cross the left strand over the middle strand
Repeat adding hair and crossing strands as you move down your head
Keep the braid tight and centered as you work
Continue braiding the remaining hair normally once all hair is added
Secure the end with a hair tie
Gently tighten the braid if needed
Smooth any loose pieces with your fingers or a light hairspray
