How to Do Chest Flys?

Set up a bench or cable station and choose a light to moderate weight

Lie back on the bench with feet flat on the floor and core braced

Hold the dumbbells or cable handles above your chest with a slight bend in your elbows

Keep your wrists neutral and shoulders pulled down and back

Lower your arms out to the sides in a wide arc until you feel a stretch in your chest

Keep the elbow bend fixed throughout the movement

Bring your arms back together over your chest in the same arc

Squeeze your chest at the top without clanking the weights together

Repeat for the desired number of reps

Move slowly and stay in control throughout the exercise

Stop if you feel pain in your shoulders or joints
