Gather a latch hook tool, pre-cut yarn strips, and a latch hook canvas
Lay the canvas flat on a clean surface
Identify the grid on the canvas and the pattern, if using one
Fold one yarn strip in half
Place the folded yarn under one canvas square with the looped end facing up
Insert the latch hook through the square from the front
Catch the folded yarn with the hook
Pull the yarn loop back through the square
Open the loop and pull the two yarn ends through it
Tighten the knot gently
Repeat for each square according to the pattern
Work row by row or section by section
Keep the yarn lengths even as you go
Trim any uneven ends if needed
Continue until the canvas is fully covered
Finish by securing the back if required by the project
Remove the completed piece from the frame or backing if used
