How To Do Normal Delivery?

Confirm labor signs and call a skilled birth attendant or go to a health facility

Wash hands and prepare a clean delivery area

Keep the mother calm, hydrated, and in a comfortable position

Monitor contractions, bleeding, and the baby’s progress

Encourage the mother to push only when fully dilated and instructed

Support the perineum as the baby’s head crowns

Allow the baby to come out slowly with each contraction

Check for and gently release any cord around the baby’s neck if trained to do so

Guide the baby’s shoulders and body out without pulling hard

Place the baby on the mother’s chest immediately after birth

Dry the baby and keep the baby warm

Clear the baby’s airway only if needed

Clamp and cut the umbilical cord with sterile equipment when appropriate

Deliver the placenta naturally and check that it comes out completely

Massage the uterus to help it contract and reduce bleeding

Monitor the mother for heavy bleeding, severe pain, or shock

Seek emergency help immediately if there is excessive bleeding, prolonged labor, fetal distress, or the baby is not breathing
