Open the Settings app
Tap Wallpaper
Tap Add New Wallpaper
Choose a wallpaper from your photos, Apple options, or a color
Tap Add
Tap Set as Wallpaper Pair or Customize Home Screen if needed
Open Messages to use the new background appearance on your device
