Draw a circle for the basketball outline
Add a vertical guideline through the center
Add a horizontal guideline through the center

Connect the two curves near the top and bottom using shallow arcs
Draw the center seam by adding a curved line along the vertical guideline

Erase extra guidelines if needed
Darken the outer outline
Add shading by lightly shading one side and leaving the other side lighter

Color the basketball orange and color the seams black
