Draw a simple outline of the hair section you want to braid
Divide the section into three equal strands
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Cross the left strand over the new middle strand
Repeat alternating sides down the length of the braid
Keep the strands evenly spaced as you go
Taper the braid slightly toward the end
Add curved lines to show overlapping sections
Draw small gaps or edges between strands for depth

Refine the outer shape of the plait
