Choose fresh flowers that are not fully open
Remove excess leaves and trim the stems
Gather flowers into small bunches
Tie stems together with string or rubber bands
Hang the bunches upside down in a dark, dry, well-ventilated place
Keep flowers away from direct sunlight and humidity
Leave them hanging for 1 to 3 weeks until fully dry
Check that petals feel crisp and stems are firm
Store dried flowers in a dry container away from moisture
Use silica gel for faster drying if needed
Place flowers in an airtight container covered with silica gel
Leave them buried in the gel for several days until dry
Remove flowers carefully and brush off any remaining gel
Press flowers between absorbent paper and heavy books if flat drying is desired
Change the paper every few days until the flowers are dry
Handle dried flowers gently to avoid breaking petals
