Hold edible food in your hand
Open your inventory and place food in your hotbar if needed
Select the food item
Right-click or use the use item button to eat it
Keep holding the use button until the eating animation finishes
Make sure your hunger bar is not full for most foods to be eaten
Use a bowl or other required container if the food needs one
Eat golden apples and similar items the same way as other foods
On mobile, tap and hold the food item to eat it
On console, press and hold the use button to eat it
