Open Instagram and log in to your account
Go to your profile
Tap the menu icon
Select Settings and privacy
Tap Accounts Center
Tap Personal details
Tap Account ownership and control
Select Deactivation or deletion
Choose the account you want to disable
Select Deactivate account
Follow the prompts and confirm
To re-enable the account, log back in with your username and password
If prompted, complete any verification steps
Your account will be restored after login if it was only deactivated
