Clean the glass thoroughly with soap and water, then dry it completely
Wipe the surface with rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining oils or residue
Apply adhesive vinyl, stencil, or etching resist to the areas you want to protect
Press the edges of the stencil down firmly to prevent etching cream from seeping underneath
Wear gloves and eye protection
Work in a well-ventilated area
Apply a thick, even layer of glass etching cream over the exposed glass
Leave the cream on for the time specified by the product instructions
Rinse the glass thoroughly with water while keeping the cream away from skin and eyes
Remove the stencil or resist after rinsing
Wash the glass again with soap and water
Dry the glass with a lint-free cloth
Dispose of used materials according to the product label instructions
