Open Instagram and log in
Tap your profile picture in the bottom right
Tap the menu icon in the top right
Select Accounts Center or Settings and privacy
Go to Your information and permissions
Tap Upload contacts or Contacts syncing
Turn on contact syncing if it is off
Go back to Instagram and tap the search icon
Search for a person by name, username, or phone number
Check the Suggested for you section
Open your profile and tap Edit profile
Use Find people or Discover people if available
Sync your phone contacts to see matching accounts
Allow Instagram access to your contacts when prompted
Check Facebook friends if your accounts are connected
