Search the model identifier online for the release year
Compare the release year to the current year
Check the original receipt or order confirmation if available
Look at the battery cycle count for a rough usage estimate
Check the hardware model against Apple’s support pages
Use the Mac’s serial number on a third-party serial lookup site
