Open the Messages app
Look for blue unread message dots or bold conversation names
Check the top of the conversation list for recent unread texts
Use the search bar in Messages to find specific senders or keywords
Swipe down on the Home Screen and check the Messages app badge count
Open each conversation with a blue dot or bold preview
Check filtered lists like Unknown Senders if enabled
Go to Settings
Tap Notifications
Tap Messages
Make sure badges are turned on
Ask Siri to show unread messages
Check all linked devices if you use Messages on iPad or Mac
