Replace a leaking thermostat housing gasket or seal
Repair or replace a cracked coolant reservoir
Check the heater core and cabin floor for signs of leakage
Inspect freeze plugs and engine block for corrosion or seepage
Use the correct coolant type and mix specified for the vehicle
Refill the cooling system to the proper level after repairs
Bleed air from the cooling system if required
Start the engine and check for leaks while it warms up
Monitor coolant level and temperature after the repair
Take the vehicle to a mechanic if the leak source cannot be found or repaired safely
