Clean the area with warm water and mild cleaner; remove dust and debris
Dry completely
If the chip is loose, remove any crumbling edges with a utility knife or chisel
Use painter’s tape to mask surrounding tile surfaces to protect them
Apply thin masking around the chip to limit mess
For small chips: fill with a tile repair epoxy or epoxy grout/mortar repair kit
For larger chips: fill in layers, allowing each layer to cure per product directions
Mix repair compound thoroughly until uniform in color/texture
Pack the compound firmly into the chip, slightly overfilling the damaged area
Remove excess with a putty knife or plastic scraper
Let cure fully (follow product cure time)
Sand flush with fine-grit sandpaper or a sanding sponge
Wipe away dust with a damp cloth; dry
If needed, apply matching tile touch-up paint or glaze paint to blend color
Seal the repaired area with a tile-safe sealant if the product requires it
Remove tape after initial set or after curing, per product directions
Allow full cure before exposing to water or foot traffic
