How To Fix Chipped Tile?

Clean the area with warm water and mild cleaner; remove dust and debris

Dry completely

If the chip is loose, remove any crumbling edges with a utility knife or chisel

Use painter’s tape to mask surrounding tile surfaces to protect them

Apply thin masking around the chip to limit mess

For small chips: fill with a tile repair epoxy or epoxy grout/mortar repair kit

For larger chips: fill in layers, allowing each layer to cure per product directions

Mix repair compound thoroughly until uniform in color/texture

Pack the compound firmly into the chip, slightly overfilling the damaged area

Remove excess with a putty knife or plastic scraper

Let cure fully (follow product cure time)

Sand flush with fine-grit sandpaper or a sanding sponge

Wipe away dust with a damp cloth; dry

If needed, apply matching tile touch-up paint or glaze paint to blend color

Seal the repaired area with a tile-safe sealant if the product requires it

Remove tape after initial set or after curing, per product directions

Allow full cure before exposing to water or foot traffic
