Inspect the fuse in the plug and replace if blown

Push each bulb firmly into its socket
Replace any damaged or dark bulbs with the correct type

Gently wiggle sections to find the bad connection
Look for corrosion or bent contacts in the sockets
Clean dirty contacts with a dry cloth
If one section is out, check for a loose connector between strands
Replace the entire strand if the wiring is damaged
Use a light tester or multimeter to locate the fault
Keep spare bulbs and fuses on hand
Avoid using outdoor lights indoors or damaged lights at all
