Get evaluated by a physical therapist or sports medicine clinician
Identify the cause of the winging
Rest from aggravating overhead or pushing activities
Improve posture and thoracic mobility
Strengthen the serratus anterior
Strengthen the lower and middle trapezius
Strengthen the rhomboids
Perform scapular control exercises
Use wall slides with proper scapular motion
Do push-up plus exercises
Do serratus punches
Do prone Y, T, and W exercises
Stretch tight pectoral muscles
Stretch the levator scapulae and upper trapezius if tight
Train core and trunk stability
Avoid shrugging during exercises
Use light resistance and progress gradually
Address nerve injury if present
Seek medical care if winging is sudden, severe, or painful
