Restart the Chromebook
Clean the touchpad with a soft, dry cloth
Remove any external mouse or USB device
Check for moisture or dirt on the touchpad
Press Esc and Refresh, then tap Power to restart if the system is frozen
Update ChromeOS
Go to Settings and check touchpad settings
Enable tap-to-click if it was turned off
Disable and re-enable the touchpad if available
Sign out and sign back in
Perform a hard reset
Reset Chromebook settings
Test the touchpad in Guest mode
Check for a damaged keyboard or stuck key affecting the touchpad
Powerwash the Chromebook
Contact Chromebook support if the touchpad still does not work
