Clean the chip and surrounding glass with glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth
Dry the area completely
Place clear tape over the chip to keep out dirt and moisture
Park the vehicle in a shaded, dry area
Use a windshield chip repair kit with resin
Follow the kit instructions to apply the resin into the chip
Remove air bubbles if the kit includes that step
Cure the resin with sunlight or the included UV light
Scrape off excess cured resin with a razor blade if directed by the kit
Clean the repaired area again
Avoid washing the car or exposing the chip to extreme temperatures until repaired
Replace the windshield if the chip is large, deep, spreading, or in the driver’s line of sight
Have a professional repair the chip if you are unsure or the damage is severe
