Hold the flag flat and ensure it is clean and untangled
Fold it lengthwise so the saffron and green bands are brought together with the Ashoka Chakra visible on the white band
Fold it lengthwise again to make a long, narrow strip
Start folding from the fly end toward the hoist end in small triangular folds
Keep folding until only a compact triangular bundle remains
Tuck the remaining end securely into the folds
Ensure the saffron band remains on the outside of the folded flag
Handle the folded flag respectfully and place it in a clean, safe location
