Open your Excel worksheet
Select the column to the right of the column you want to freeze
Go to the View tab
Click Freeze Panes
Click Freeze Panes again from the dropdown
To freeze only the first column, go to View
Click Freeze Panes
Click Freeze First Column
To unfreeze, go to View
Click Freeze Panes
Click Unfreeze Panes
