Brush the hair until smooth and tangle-free
Gather a section of hair from the top of the head
Split the section into three equal strands
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Cross the left strand over the new middle strand
Add a small section of hair from the right side to the right strand
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Add a small section of hair from the left side to the left strand
Cross the left strand over the middle strand
Repeat alternating sides and adding hair as you braid downward
Keep the braid tight and even as you work
Continue until all hair is included
Finish by braiding the remaining length normally
Secure the end with a hair tie
Smooth any loose strands if needed
