Complete Form DS-11 for a first-time passport, child under 16, or if your previous passport is not eligible for renewal by mail
Gather proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a certified birth certificate or naturalization certificate
Gather a valid government-issued photo ID and a photocopy of the front and back
Provide one passport photo that meets U.S. passport photo requirements
Bring any required parental consent documents if applying for a minor
Find a passport acceptance facility in Georgia, such as a post office, clerk of court, or public library
Make an appointment if the acceptance facility requires one
Submit your application in person at the acceptance facility
Pay the required passport fees and acceptance fee
Track your application status after submission
Renew by mail with Form DS-82 if you are eligible to do so
