Blot up any fresh urine with paper towels or a clean cloth
Rinse the stained area with cold water
Soak the clothing in cold water for 30 to 60 minutes
Apply an enzyme-based pet stain remover to the affected area
Let the enzyme cleaner sit for the time listed on the label
Wash the clothing in cold water with regular detergent
Add an extra rinse cycle if possible
Check the clothing before drying to make sure the odor and stain are gone
Repeat the treatment if needed
Air-dry the clothing until you are sure the smell is gone
Avoid using hot water or a dryer before the odor is fully removed
