Blot the stain immediately with a clean paper towel or cloth
Rinse the stained area with cold water from the back of the fabric
Apply liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain
Gently rub the fabric together or use a soft brush
Let the detergent sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Rinse thoroughly with cold water
Repeat the detergent step if the stain remains
For stubborn stains, soak the garment in cold water with detergent for 15 to 30 minutes
Wash the clothing according to the care label
Check that the stain is gone before drying
Air-dry the item if any stain remains
Use a stain remover or a paste of baking soda and water for older stains
Avoid hot water until the stain is fully removed
