Blot up as much of the coffee as possible with a clean white cloth or paper towel
Do not rub the stain
Mix 1 cup of warm water with 1/2 teaspoon of mild dish soap
Apply the solution to the stain with a clean cloth
Blot the area repeatedly until the stain lifts
Rinse by blotting with a cloth dampened with plain water
Blot dry with a clean towel
Repeat if needed
For stubborn stains, mix 1 tablespoon white vinegar with 1 tablespoon dish soap and 2 cups warm water
Apply the vinegar solution to the stain and blot
Rinse with plain water and blot dry
Sprinkle baking soda on the area after cleaning to help absorb moisture and odor
Vacuum the carpet once fully dry
Test any cleaning solution on a hidden area first
