Check Instagram’s “Download your information” feature
Open Instagram settings
Go to Accounts Center
Select Your information and permissions
Choose Download your information
Request a copy of your data
Check your email or Instagram notification for the download link
Review the downloaded messages archive
Check the other person’s chat history
Ask the other person to send screenshots or forward the messages
Check connected email notifications for message previews
Restore from a device backup if one exists
Check notification history on your phone if enabled
Use third-party recovery tools only if they are trusted and safe
Contact Instagram Support if the messages were deleted due to account issues
